The 30 Day Learn Out Loud Challenge

Ever promised yourself you’d work out more? What about cutting back on whole sleeves of Oreos? Or maybe finally deleting the apps off your phone that send you into a spiral of doomscrolling every evening?

Well, I make these promises to myself too and, many times I don’t follow through.

Unfortunately, writing on this blog is one of those things.

I’m constantly kicking myself with a desire to write more, but I haven’t yet built a good habit of doing it. So, I decided to do the internet thing and make it a challenge. I’m calling it The 30 Day Learn Out Loud Challenge.

The Challenge

Here are the rules:

  • Every day for 30 days, write publicly about something you learned (or at least something that’s on your mind).
  • Posting on social media isn’t a requirement, but if you do, use the hashtag #learnoutloud
  • If you miss a day, you start over.

This challenge has a couple goals in mind:

  1. Build the habit of writing and taking notes. A day passed without writing anything should feel weird.
  2. Share value. I learn something every day. And a lot of it comes from some stranger on the internet who decided to write about it. The best way to give back is to do the same thing.

If you want to take the challenge too, you don’t have to build a website. You can just post on LinkedIn, Twitter/X or your preferred social media platform. You could also make an account on Medium or Substack. Heck, write on a legal pad an staple it to a bulletin in the town square. Just find some kind of outlet where you can post your writing publicly and share value.

Keep me honest

If you’re reading this, help keep me honest. Call me out on social media if I miss a day (I’m most active on LinkedIn).

If you’re still reading, then I have officially intrigued you. You should take the challenge too! Connect with me on LinkedIn and start writing!
